Feb 15: More Fun Times in Virginia

You know you've had a fun, and activity-filled day when you fall asleep reading your book.

Nov 8: Kids in the Car

Calli hardly ever naps during naptime, but when she is sleepy in the car - she just can't fight it. Mari has the Dora cd memorized. She started saying "troll" during the song about the grumpy old troll. The funniest part was - she knew she was being funny!

August 25: Not Exactly a Nap

Calli no longer has "nap time", she has rest time. But 99% of the time, she keeps herself busy playing and reading books during rest time, so she won't fall asleep. Well, this time she was too sleepy, and finally gave in.


This time, she discovered a good way to kill time is to take out every Kleenex from a newly opened box!

The End of Naps

And there was much weeping throughout the kingdom!!

It seems they teamed up on this one, and Mari decided to drop her morning nap at the same time Calli dropped her afternoon nap. So sad. I haven't quite admited defeat. For the last week or so, I've still tried to put Calli down for a nap each afternoon - even though she hasn't been sleeping.
So today, Rich heard some noice in her room and found this. She had gotten a bunch of toys off the shelf and brought them all on the bed. (We have a no toy policy for naps.)



And I just love this picture. Isn't is so cute when they cross their legs when they are asleep??

No Naps

So first thing this morning, we drove to Grandma and Grandpa's house for a visit. Mari ususally takes a morning nap, but she didn't sleep in the car. Neither girl slept at all when I tried to put them down for an afternoon nap. Finally, I decided we should go for a walk. Both girls passed out.

Bottoms Up

This is the way Mari has slept since she was about 8 weeks old. She lays on her tummy (no, that is not acceptable for babies, but no one could convince her of that) with her bottom way up in the air. And for the past couple of months, she reaches out both arms, grabs the blanket that is over her, and tucks herself in - snug as a bug in a rug.
This is a slide at a nearby playground. It is made of conveyor-type rollers. It looks cool, and the kids seem to like it, but for adults it is a really bumpy ride. Maybe it is easier on the bottom when you weigh less . . .

Tuckered Out

Today, for the 2nd time this week, we went swimming at the Devonshire Aquatic Center in Skokie. The girls loved it. They sat, and crawled, and splashed, and played in the fun zero-depth pool. We went straight from the gym to the pool and by the time we left at almost 4pm they were spent. Both girls feel asleep in the car on the way home.
In case you are wondering why I picked these pictures, I have no pictures from our time AT the pool. Chasing two small girls does not afford one time to snap pictures. Once they pass out, pictures are much easier to take :)
